About the Event
Surrender to a blissful morning of pampering and connection while raising money for a worthwhile cause.
On Saturday 8th May, let us spoil you with a mini massage and fashion styling session, have your hair and makeup done and nails painted, so that you can roll up to your Mother’s Day celebrations feeling like the fabulous woman you are.
Villagehood Australia is a not-for-profit centre for mothers holding space for every mother to maintain her sense of self, wellbeing and independence, as she experiences the trials and triumphs of motherhood.
Aussie mums are not OK and we know that limited support is a major risk factor for postnatal depression, which is what we are trying to counter here at Villagehood Australia. We provide a safe space for mothers to find connection and a village of support.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we offer group activities for mums, creche services for the little ones, me-time area to relax and hot desks for working mums from our home at the Fulham Community Centre, with the aim of expanding our offerings into communities across Adelaide.
We also hold regular masterclasses with experts, covering everything from baby and toddler sleep, to positive parenting, First Aid and kicking goals outside of your role as mum.
This testimonial from Johanna, a mum of two, conveys just how much our program means to our lovely mums, particularly those with little support at home: "It’s fantastic to be able to take some time out for myself to do a Pilates class and have someone trustworthy watch my kids. It’s even better to be able to have a cup of tea and a chat afterwards with other women, without chasing the kids the whole time. Villagehood is great for those of us who don’t have extended family support in Adelaide. A couple of hours on a Friday doesn’t sound like much but it really helps me unwind."
Every ticket sold for our Mother’s Day Pamper Day will help us to expand our vital services to more areas and mothers in need, as well as offering our creche and classes on more weekdays.
And, for every ten tickets sold, we’ll donate a morning of pampering to a mum experiencing hardship. So, shake off that mum guilt, rope someone into Saturday sports duties and get your ticket! You get one weekend out of a whole year to do you, so come along with your mum, teenage daughter or gal pals and be spoiled, forge new friendships and pick up something lovely at our market stalls.
If you can’t make it to the event, you can support our good work with a donation. We also have corporate sponsorships available to altruistic business owners, who would like to connect with our village of mums. Simply hit reply to express your interest.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the Fulham Community Centre on Saturday 8th May.
Warmest Regards, Dinah & the Villagehood team
